The Blue Mountains Wildplant Rescue Service (BMWRS) - the first of its kind in Australia - was formed in 1994 to help protect and promote the natural values of the Blue Mountains.
Initially involved in simply rescuing and rehoming wild native plants, BMWRS opened its own propagating nursery in 1998 in order to supply larger numbers of truly local plants for bushcare groups, landscapers and the local Council.
Wildplant Rescue volunteers acknowledge that we work on the lands of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. |
Create Your Own Blue Mountains Native Bush GardenIf you live in the Blue Mountains and would like to have your own beautiful waterwise native bush garden, or are wanting to restore native bushland in your area, then Katoomba Native Plant Nursery is the place to visit! All the plants for sale are of local provenance and are therefore ideally adapted to their environment. You can purchase native plants propagated by us from seed collected locally or, you can sometimes buy pots of ‘rescued’ plants which we have saved from blocks of land that are being cleared for development. We are here to assist a range of individuals and organisations including: Home gardeners / Council/other local authorities / Landscape contractors / Bush regeneration groups / Members / Volunteers. We invite you to visit our nursery located in bushland at the Clairvaux Community Centre, 14 Oak St, Katoomba NSW. We are open for sales every Friday and Saturday between 10am and 1pm.
Our team of volunteers is always ready to welcome you and to offer advice about the most suitable plants for your garden and how to care for them.
We aim to inspire you to grow your own native garden or to restore degraded bush, or simply learn about our local flora and really appreciate it.
