Bidgee-widgee is a quick spreading tough groundcover. It can be useful for erosion control through soil binding, and assists with moisture retention. Balls of small flowers on long stalks develop into reddish fruits to 25 mm and are covered in burrs which stick to clothing (or dog's fur!) but may help to restrict foot traffic. Seeds are bird food, and it is good for frog habitats.

For moist to dry sites in clay and sandy soils. Full sun to full shade.

We are not currently cultivating tubes of this groundcover, but it is growing happily in several sections of the nursery so if you'd like to get it growing in your garden, speak to the sales volunteers and they'll point you to a patch. Grab a handful and plant it yourself at home. Easy peasy!
