This native Hydrocotyle species (probably Hydrocotyle sibthorpiodes but unconfirmed) spreads rapidly in moist semi-shaded areas and competes well. We find that it even deters the lyre birds and bower birds from scratching up the ground! It is very adaptable and will be thick and lush in moisture and shade but can survive in drier areas but will be more petite in growth. As seen in the photo of the garden wall at the nursery, it will drape down from retaining walls or trail out of hanging baskets.

Although it might be considered weedy, it is very easy to pull up, having no thorns or other difficult features and makes a great groundcover. It provides an excellent habitat for native frogs.
