This shrub or small tree flowers profusely with sweet-scented white blossom, attracting bees and birds. It is also a known food-source for butterflies. It is variable in height and can be lightly pruned to keep a compact shape. It is tolerant of most soil types.

Please note this is a very prickly plant with small very sharp spines over most of its branches, which makes it a great refuge for small birds.
