Leptospermum polyanthum, now renamed as Gaudium polyanthum, as its name suggests, bears masses of white flowers in early to mid summer. It is a tall shrub or small tree up to 5m tall with a 3m spread, often having a pendulous habit. It is found naturally on rocky outcrops and gullies near streams and so may need a free draining soil to thrive. It is great for attracting bees and insects during flowering and therefore is good for encouraging birds into the garden too.
