This woody rainforest climber is very adaptable, growing in most soil types, except for fully waterlogged areas, and coping in a range of positions, from full sun to full shade. In the garden it makes a useful screening plant on a strong trellis, but take care planting in the garden as it can eventually swamp smaller plants and should only be planted by large trees.

This plant may flower at any time of year, producing bunches of creamy, yellow or pinkish flowers with hairy-fringed petals that give off a pleasant, sweet fragrance.
