Landcare around the nursery
The bushland at Clairvaux, where our nursery is located, has been sadly neglected for many years. As an environmental organisation dedicated to native plants, it is not a good look for our members and customers to step out of their cars and be confronted by weeds! You may have noticed that weeds are also a constant problem within the nursery itself. Consequently we are calling for volunteers from our membership to join with us in forming a Landcare Group to come to grips with the weeds.
The plan is to meet once a month, beginning on Saturday 28th March at 1.30pm. Bushcare experience is welcome but not required - training and guidance will be provided. To register your interest, please email Michael Alexander at news@wildplantrescue.org.au. More detailed information will be provided closer to the time to all who have expressed interest.
Most of our volunteer activities take place on weekdays, and we are conscious that this excludes many of our members who are committed elsewhere during the week. We are hoping that this new weekend activity will bring in a fresh cohort of volunteers to support Wildplant Rescue, and to help regenerate this little piece of bushland. However, if a weekday works better for you, please let us know of your interest and available days.
